Princess Lalla Meryem Welcomes Palestinian Youth at Summer Camp in Morocco

On August 23, 2026, Princess Lalla Meryem, under the orders of King Mohammed VI, hosted a group of Palestinian children from Al-Quds at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat. This event was part of the 17th edition of summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, which is dedicated to supporting the residents of the Holy City through various impactful projects. The initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of the Moroccan monarchy to the people of Al-Quds, particularly focusing on vulnerable groups such as women, children, and those facing difficult situations.

The summer camp, aptly named "Manarat Assalam" or "Beacon of Peace," is taking place from August 12 to 26. This year, it includes 50 children, aged 11 to 14, from Al-Quds, accompanied by five supervisors. The program commenced with the second session of the summer school in Skhirate, followed by a series of educational trips, artistic contests, sports competitions, and cultural visits, all organized in collaboration with Moroccan children.

During the welcoming ceremony, the Princess was greeted by Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the director responsible for managing the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, along with the supervisors and the participating children. After a photo session, the Princess presided over a reception hosted by King Mohammed VI in honor of the young guests, who later presented her with commemorative gifts. Director Echarkaoui also presented the Princess with a comprehensive report detailing the previous 17 editions of the program, which has benefited a total of 850 children from various neighborhoods of Al-Quds since its inception in 2008, alongside 85 supervisors. This initiative has provided these participants with the opportunity to experience the solidarity of Moroccans with the Palestinian people while exploring different regions of the Kingdom.
