Enhancing Road Safety Culture among Students in Marrakech
On March 10, the Regional Academy for Education and Training in Marrakech-Safi, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of the National Road Safety Agency, launched an initiative to distribute protective helmets to students who use motorcycles in the Marrakech region. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to instill a culture of road safety within the school environment. The event took place at the Qadi Ayad Secondary School and was attended by several educational and administrative officials, as well as the beneficiary students.
The meeting featured informative sessions aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of driving, accompanied by a presentation of a video highlighting road safety measures. The students received helmets, which are crucial for their protection while riding motorcycles. Abdul Razaq Al-Qaruni, the regional coordinator for road safety programs, praised the commitment of the regional directorate of the National Road Safety Agency in enhancing school safety initiatives. Programs such as "School and Safe Bicycle" and "School Certificate for Road Safety" were highlighted, along with projects aimed at establishing road safety clubs and training their facilitators.
The event also included analytical presentations about road safety indicators in the region, as well as valuable tips to reduce risks and enhance the protection of motorcycle users. This initiative underscores the importance of proactive measures to ensure the safety of young road users and reflects a broader commitment to fostering a safer community.
