Enhancing Road Safety Among Students in Marrakech
On March 10, the Regional Academy for Education and Training in Marrakech-Safi, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of the National Road Safety Agency, launched an initiative aimed at distributing protective helmets to students who use motorcycles in the Marrakech region. This initiative is part of broader efforts to instill a culture of road safety within the educational environment. The event took place at the Qadi Ayyad High School and was attended by various educational and administrative staff members, as well as the benefiting students.
The gathering included informative sessions focusing on the dangers of driving, complemented by a screening of a video aimed at raising awareness about road safety. Helmets were distributed to a group of both male and female students, emphasizing the importance of protective gear in preventing accidents and promoting safe driving practices among young riders.
Abdelrazak Al-Qarouni, the regional coordinator of road safety programs, praised the involvement of the regional directorate of the National Road Safety Agency in enhancing school safety initiatives. Programs such as "Safe School and Bicycle" and "School Certificate for Road Safety" were highlighted, along with projects aimed at equipping safety clubs and training their facilitators. The activity also featured analytical presentations regarding road safety indicators in the region, along with practical advice to minimize risks and safeguard motorcycle users.
This initiative not only underscores the commitment of educational and safety authorities to protect young motorcyclists but also reflects a growing recognition of the need to address road safety within the school context. Through such efforts, the objective is to cultivate a generation of responsible and informed road users, contributing to overall public safety.
