Qatar Airways Enhances Connectivity in Africa

Qatar Airways has announced an exciting expansion of its route network across the African continent, set to take effect on June 16, 2026. This strategic move aims to bolster air connectivity throughout Africa by resuming flights and increasing the frequency of its operations. The airline will commence with four weekly flights to Seychelles (SEZ) and two weekly flights to Kigali (KGL) starting on June 16, alongside a daily flight to Marrakech (RAK) commencing on July 1.

In addition to these new routes, Qatar Airways plans to significantly increase flight frequencies to several key destinations. Notably, service to Alexandria (HBE) will rise from three to seven weekly flights, while Cairo (CAI) will see an increase from 28 to 35 weekly flights. Furthermore, flights to Cape Town (CPT) will expand from seven to ten weekly, and Dar es Salaam (DAR) will also increase from three to seven weekly flights. Other destinations benefiting from increased service include Lusaka (LUN)-Harare (HRE), which will see flights increase from five to seven weekly, and Maputo (MPM)-Durban (DUR), which will rise from four to seven weekly flights.

New Services to Port Sudan and Commitment to Global Air Travel

Moreover, Qatar Airways is set to launch three weekly flights to Port Sudan (PZU) starting July 2. This new route will enable travelers from major markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including Oman and Pakistan, to seamlessly connect through Hamad International Airport. This initiative underscores the airline's commitment to providing global air transport services while balancing sustainable growth with the increasing demand for air connectivity, thereby enhancing trade prospects.
