Rabat Upgrades Its Command and Coordination Center
The Rabat police prefecture has taken a significant step forward in modernizing its security infrastructure with the launch of the second generation of its command and coordination center. This newly refurbished facility, inaugurated recently, serves as a central hub for various security operations ranging from traffic management to emergency police interventions, including real-time monitoring of urban surveillance systems.
This ambitious project involved a complete overhaul of the previous command center, which was inaugurated in 2016. The renovations have allowed for seamless integration with the capital's extensive surveillance network, which comprises over 1,400 high-definition cameras deployed in partnership with the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. Furthermore, the capabilities of the General Directorate of National Security's communication and information systems have been significantly enhanced to improve the flow of information and coordination of interventions.
The upgraded facility consolidates various operational components of the police within a single space. One of its key features is the continuous reception of emergency calls through the number 19, facilitated by a platform designed to handle a high volume of communications simultaneously. Information gathered from these calls is promptly recorded and relayed to field teams for swift intervention.
Additionally, the infrastructure includes a data center that adheres to the latest cybersecurity standards, allowing for the secure storage, retrieval, and utilization of the digital data necessary for police operations. Alongside this, a dedicated crisis management center has been established to coordinate responses to exceptional events. This center is interconnected with primary security databases and communication networks, ensuring operational autonomy for ongoing decision-making.
This modernization initiative represents the culmination of a comprehensive effort aimed at adapting police operational capabilities to technological advancements while simultaneously improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
