Rabat Hosts the Arab Postal Leaders Forum
On June 23 and 24, 2026, Rabat will host the third edition of the Forum for Arab Postal Leaders, an event dedicated to discussing the evolution of postal services in the context of the burgeoning e-commerce industry. Organized by Barid Al-Maghrib in collaboration with the Universal Postal Union, this forum aims to highlight the necessary transformations required to adapt logistical chains to a digital economy. The inaugural session will feature various government officials, including the Ministers of Industry and Commerce as well as Transport and Logistics, alongside postal operators from 14 Arab nations. Representatives from both regional and international organizations are also expected to participate in the discussions.
Reimagining Logistics for the Digital Age
The core discussions of the forum will focus on the transformations within the postal sector, particularly the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics to enhance the efficiency of postal networks. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on strengthening partnerships between public and private sectors to bolster regional competitiveness. The forum will also address issues related to cross-border e-commerce, particularly how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can gain access to international markets. Priorities such as "last-mile" solutions and financing mechanisms for modernization will be at the forefront of the agenda.
This edition builds on previous meetings held in Oman and Qatar, reflecting a commitment to solidifying Arab cooperation. The outcomes of the forum are expected to culminate in a roadmap for 2026-2027, aimed at creating a more innovative, integrated, and resilient postal ecosystem.
