Rabat Set to Celebrate the 14th Oudayas Summer Festival
The vibrant city of Rabat is gearing up for an exciting cultural event as it prepares to host the 14th edition of the International Arts and Culture Festival, known as the "Été des Oudayas," from August 9 to 12. This esteemed festival will take place along the picturesque Bouregreg corniche and is held under the esteemed patronage of King Mohammed VI.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in collaboration with the National Music Committee, a member of the International Council of Music (CIM) and an official UNESCO partner, this festival promises to be a grand gathering of artistic talent. The event is also made possible through the support of the Wilaya of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, highlighting the importance of this festival in promoting cultural exchange and artistic expression.
This year’s festival coincides with the celebrations of the Glorious Throne Day, further enhancing its significance as one of the most vital artistic festivals in Morocco's capital. The opening night will feature a performance by the renowned artist Fouad Zbadi, who will be honored with the "Festival Trophy." Additionally, a tribute will be paid to the celebrated artist Mahmoud Megri in recognition of his exceptional artistic journey.
The inaugural evening will also showcase performances by artists Ayoub Tijani and Fatima Zahra Laaroussi, who will be accompanied by the Intercultural Orchestra of Morocco, under the direction of maestro Hamza Amazgar. The festival's second concert will feature Sami Kasba, who will receive the "Hassan Megri Award," alongside the project "Nostalgia," and performances from artists Farid Ghannam and the renowned Gnaoua musician Hamid El Kasri.
As the festival progresses, attendees can look forward to a thrilling third concert featuring popular rapper Uzi, Nasser Megri, and the acclaimed rapper 7liwa, who will be awarded the title of "Best Rapper." The night will culminate in a lively Chaabi music performance by Salaheddine Majdouli, the group Twam, and Abdelmoughit, who will receive the Cheikh Chaabi Award for his contributions to the genre.
