Recent Rainfall Boosts Agricultural Prospects in Morocco

According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the city of Taroudant has recorded the highest level of rainfall, reaching 26 mm, closely followed by the Boulemane region with 24 mm. This trend illustrates the widespread effect of recent weather systems on both the Atlas Mountains and the adjacent plains. The rainfall is not limited to the Souss region alone; it has also spread to the eastern area, where the town of Dabboud has seen 22 mm of precipitation, while the Chichaoua region reported rainfall totaling 21 mm.

In the Middle and High Atlas, rainfall measurements in both Khenifra and Midelt were equal at 14 mm, with Beni Mellal following closely at 11 mm. Such precipitation directly contributes to enhancing groundwater levels and replenishing reservoirs in the region. In the Atlantic and central plains, rainfall ranged between 9 mm in Skhirat and Sidi Bennour, and 7 mm in the cities of Nouaceur, Ifrane, and Benslimane.

Additionally, the regions of Azilal, Tétouan, and Agadir recorded 6 mm of rainfall, while vital urban centers such as Rabat, Salé, Meknes, Berrechid, Chefchaouen, and Ben Guerir experienced 5 mm. The rainfall extended to other areas with lighter measurements, where Azrou, Taza, Sidi Ifni, Settat, Nador, Mohammedia, and Bouarfa reported 4 mm.

In Tiznit and Sidi Slimane, the recorded precipitation was 3 mm, while cities like Oujda, Kenitra, Fez, and Casablanca saw 2 mm of rainfall. The precipitation figures concluded with minimal amounts of 1 mm in towns such as Tinghir, Oukaimeden, Driouch, and Azemmour.

This rainfall comes at a crucial time in the agricultural season, raising optimism for improved pastoral conditions and the growth of autumn crops across various regions of the kingdom.
