Recent Rainfall Data Highlights Positive Agricultural Impact in Morocco

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, the city of Taroudant recorded the highest rainfall in the recent weather patterns, with a total of 26 mm, closely followed by the Boulemane region which saw 24 mm. This data indicates that the recent weather conditions positively affected areas in the Atlas Mountains and the adjacent plains.

Rainfall was not limited to the Souss region; it extended to the eastern areas as well, where the town of Debdou recorded 22 mm of rain, while the Shishawa region experienced a precipitation level of 21 mm. In both the Middle and High Atlas regions, the rainfall measurements were equal in Khénifra and Midelt at 14 mm, followed by Beni Mellal with 11 mm. This influx of rain significantly contributes to recharging groundwater levels and enhancing the reservoirs in the area.

In the Atlantic and central plains, the rainfall varied, with measurements showing 9 mm in both Skhirat and Sidi Bennour, and 7 mm recorded in the towns of Nouaceur, Ifrane, and Benslimane. The regions of Azilal, Tit Melil, and Agadir reported 6 mm, while the vital urban areas of Rabat, Salé, Meknes, Berrechid, Chefchaouen, and Ben Guerir saw rainfall of 5 mm.

Moreover, lighter showers were observed in other regions, with lower precipitation levels recorded: Azrou, Taza, Sidi Ifni, Settat, Nador, Mohammedia, and Bouarfa each received 4 mm. In Tiznit and Sidi Slimane, the rainfall was 3 mm, while cities such as Oujda, Kenitra, Fez, and Casablanca saw 2 mm of rain. The rainfall report concluded with minimal amounts of 1 mm recorded in towns like Tinghir, Oukaimeden, Al Hoceima, and Azemmour.

This rainfall is occurring at a crucial time in the agricultural season, fostering optimism for improved pasture conditions and the growth of autumn crops across the kingdom.
