Red Castle Members Call for Accountability Following Recent Defeats
The recent back-to-back defeats suffered by Wydad Athletic Club have stirred significant unrest among its members. Following a disappointing loss to Nahda Zemamra during the 18th round of the Moroccan Professional League, stakeholders within the club expressed that the administrative farce has reached its peak. Many members feel that the current management has severely tarnished the pride of Wydad, leading to calls for immediate change.
In an official statement, the members declared that “the time for talk is over; it is now time for accountability.” They emphasize that mere reforms or repairs are no longer sufficient. The urgent demand is for the resignation of the current president, Ayat Mena, along with his board, viewing them as ineffective in steering the club towards success. Additionally, there have been legal steps taken by some members advocating for a comprehensive financial audit, aimed at uncovering all financial dealings related to the club's management.
Currently, Wydad Athletic Club stands in fourth place in the league with 31 points, having recorded nine wins, four draws, and five losses. In response to the growing outcry, the current board quickly announced a collective resignation and initiated a membership drive, opening the door for nominations for club leadership to ensure stability and protect the club's interests.
