On October 12 and 13, three special workshops will bring together key academic and professional figures from the Francophone scientific community. These workshops include:

Scientific Component: 6th Assizes of Scientific Francophonie
On October 14 and 15, researchers, disciplinary networks, institutions, and civil society actors will engage in discussions regarding the pivotal role of science as a major lever for influence, cooperation, and peace. The Assizes of Scientific Francophonie will unfold through six thematic workshops:
- Workshop 1: Scientific Networks as Levers for Sustainable Francophone Scientific Diplomacy
- Workshop 2: Civil Society and Citizen Engagement: Levers for Inclusive Scientific Francophonie
- Workshop 3: Linguistic Plurality and Knowledge Circulation: Levers for Scientific Diplomacy
- Workshop 4: Health Science Diplomacy in Francophone Contexts Facing Technological Evolution
- Workshop 5: Discoverability of Francophone Knowledge and AI: Levers for Scientific Diplomacy
- Workshop 6: Francophone Scientific Diplomacy: A Lever for Peace and Sustainable Development

On October 14 and 15, students participating in the 4th Congress of Francophone Student Youth will address major issues related to misinformation risks. Titled “Information in All Its States,” the 2026 Congress will explore this theme through conferences, round tables, and practical workshops on citizen investigation, conducted in partnership with RFI, Le Monde Diplomatique, and the Factoscope network. Another highlight of the GWFS is the 6th Francophone Ministerial Conference, an essential gathering that will convene ministers in charge of Higher Education and Research to solidify a common scientific diplomacy strategy for the Francophone space. Additionally, the [Summer University of Francophonie (UDEF)](https://auf-semaine-francophonie.auf.org/#/smfs/universite-ete-francophone) will be held alongside the GWFS, designed as a professional development camp for young researchers.
