Major Renovation of Hassan II Stadium in Fez
The Hassan II Stadium in Fez, a historic sports venue, has entered a new phase of renovation as of March this year. This significant project is aimed at modernizing the stadium and transforming it into a contemporary facility that aligns with the advancements in Morocco's sports infrastructure. The renovation plans include increasing the stadium's capacity to approximately 18,000 spectators, featuring an architectural design inspired by the unique urban style of Fez. Furthermore, the project will fully cover the stands and eliminate the running track, a modification that mirrors the layout of the city’s main stadium in Rabat. This configuration will enable fans to enjoy a closer and more immersive experience during matches than ever before.
Maintenance and renovation work has already commenced, which necessitates a temporary halt in the stadium's hosting of matches until the essential construction phases are completed. The renovations at Hassan II Stadium are expected to continue until the end of the current football season, with the goal of being fully operational for the upcoming season.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance sports facilities in the Fez-Meknes region, aiming to create modern sporting environments that foster investment in the sector and provide an improved experience for fans.
