Revitalizing Moroccan Rail: LGV Kénitra-Marrakech Project Progress Report

The ambitious LGV Kénitra-Marrakech project is witnessing significant progress just one year after its inception. As of May 18, 2026, the National Railway Office of Morocco (ONCF) reported that a staggering 20 million cubic meters of earthworks have been completed, alongside the construction of 15 viaducts and 92 other structures that are already underway. These developments are indicative of the rapid acceleration of the strategic rail program dubbed 'ONCF Cap 2030'.

In a recent LinkedIn post, ONCF highlighted the decisive milestones reached in the infrastructure works, showcasing the scale of the railway program that aims to modernize Morocco's rail network. Among the major achievements are 20 million cubic meters of excavation, the ongoing construction of 15 viaducts, and the initiation of three covered trenches at key locations including the Casablanca airport, Zenata, and Aïn Atiq, spanning a total length of 1.5 kilometers. Furthermore, 92 structures have been commenced for the construction of rail and road bridges, underscoring the project's rapid advancement.

This momentum reinforces ONCF's commitment to enhancing the national rail infrastructure through the LGV Kénitra-Marrakech project, which plays a crucial role in improving mobility and infrastructure across the Kingdom.
