Revolutionizing Law Enforcement: The Introduction of Smart Patrol Vehicles in Morocco

Smart Patrol Vehicles Enhance Police Operations in Morocco

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) is embarking on a significant modernization journey aimed at enhancing its intervention capabilities. As of this week, the streets of Rabat have welcomed two innovative smart patrol vehicles, named "Aman" and "Madar." Following their introduction in Rabat, these advanced vehicles are set to extend their operations to Casablanca and Tangier, with plans for a gradual rollout across major cities throughout the Kingdom.

This initiative aligns with the DGSN's digital transformation strategy, which seeks to bolster the operational capacity of police services through the integration of artificial intelligence and next-generation surveillance technologies. The "Aman" vehicle, developed internally by the DGSN's engineering teams, embodies these innovations. It features a state-of-the-art camera system that provides a comprehensive 360-degree view, coupled with automatic license plate recognition and real-time facial recognition capabilities. The data collected is analyzed instantaneously and forwarded to command centers and on-ground units, facilitating swift and informed decision-making during interventions.

Innovations in Surveillance with the "Madar" Platform

On the other hand, the "Madar" platform takes a different approach, serving as a mobile solution capable of transforming traditional police vehicles into intelligent surveillance units. Equipped with high-definition cameras, it can monitor up to six traffic lanes simultaneously, and its panoramic camera can rotate fully in under three seconds, effectively covering blind spots. Additionally, the system incorporates a lighting device created using 3D printing technology, which enhances its operational efficiency.

Both vehicles boast a new visual identity and are outfitted with a geolocation system, along with direct access to the DGSN's central database via an onboard terminal. This allows crews to swiftly access essential information during their operations, significantly improving response times and situational awareness.

The deployment of these smart patrol vehicles follows several months of development, operational testing, and team training. After their initial rollout in Rabat, plans are in place for the "Aman" and "Madar" systems to be introduced in Casablanca and Tangier, paving the way for a broader implementation across various police prefectures in the Kingdom.

With the operational launch of "Aman" and "Madar," the DGSN is taking bold steps to modernize its operational capabilities. These new vehicles leverage artificial intelligence and real-time analysis to enhance the surveillance and intervention capacities of law enforcement agencies across Morocco.
