Richard Branson Introduces New Luxury Hotel in Morocco Inspired by Traditional Craftsmanship

British billionaire Richard Branson is poised to unveil a new luxury hotel under his Virgin Limited Edition brand in Marrakech, Morocco, set to open its doors in 2027. This new establishment marks a significant expansion for the Virgin hotel chain, which already boasts nine properties across Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. Located just 25 minutes from the historic walls of Marrakech, the hotel will be nestled within a sprawling 6.5-hectare private agricultural estate.

The hotel, designed to reflect the essence of Moroccan culture and artisan craftsmanship, will feature 37 luxurious rooms, each thoughtfully crafted to blend seamlessly with the surrounding agricultural landscape. The architectural design will echo the region's authentic agricultural heritage, utilizing locally sourced stone and wood materials. This commitment to sustainability and local tradition is a hallmark of Branson's vision for this new venture.

Inside, guests can expect to encounter a rich array of artwork from Moroccan and African artists, along with a versatile event space that will transform into a pop-up gallery, providing local creators with a platform to showcase their narratives. Virgin Limited Edition emphasizes that the hotel will offer a carefully curated selection of immersive cultural experiences, ensuring that guests are deeply connected to the local environment and its traditions.

Central to this ambitious project is a fully operational organic farm, complete with citrus orchards and vegetable gardens, which will supply fresh produce to the hotel's three restaurants, including a chef's table and a bar. Moreover, the estate will provide a comprehensive wellness experience, featuring a traditional Moroccan hammam, a 40-meter swimming pool, and a variety of sports facilities for tennis, padel, horseback riding, yoga, and Pilates.

As construction progresses, with plans for 22 rooms to be ready by early 2027, reservations for stays at this luxurious retreat are expected to open in September 2026.
