Royal Air Maroc Announces Increased Flights to São Paulo by End of 2026

Royal Air Maroc Expands Service to Brazil

In a significant development for air travel between Morocco and Brazil, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced that it will be increasing its flights between Casablanca and São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport. Initially expected to add an extra weekly flight starting March 31, 2027, the airline has now confirmed that this enhancement will take place by the end of 2026. Less than a year after introducing a fourth weekly flight, RAM is set to implement its fifth departure, which is scheduled to commence between November and December 2026, aligning with the winter season's flight schedule for 2026-2027.

Strategic Growth in Brazilian Market

This expansion is part of Royal Air Maroc's ongoing strategy to gradually increase its presence in the Brazilian market, which has become increasingly important in the airline's international operations. The airline aims to solidify its position as the leading operation outside Africa, with plans to potentially reach daily flights by 2028 and to launch operations in Rio de Janeiro in 2027. Othman Baba, the regional director of Royal Air Maroc for South America, emphasized the airline's commitment to sustainable growth, operational consistency, and long-term vision, noting Brazil's central role in the company's strategy due to the strong connectivity between the two nations.

Similar to its other intercontinental routes, the new flight will be operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a state-of-the-art long-haul aircraft. Baba remarked that Brazil has established itself as a strategic market for Royal Air Maroc, supported by positive operational results and steady demand. The addition of a fifth flight reflects the company's gradual development and confidence in the potential of its Brazilian operations in the coming years.

Currently, Royal Air Maroc operates four direct weekly flights between São Paulo and Casablanca. Flights from Guarulhos are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 00:30 and arriving at 13:25 local time. Conversely, flights from Casablanca take off on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 16:50, landing in São Paulo at 22:30 local time. This route connects the Brazilian market to the airline's international hub at Mohammed V Airport, providing access to approximately 100 destinations across 46 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America.

The expansion of the Brazilian network is in line with Royal Air Maroc's global growth plan, which includes fleet expansion, the introduction of new aircraft, and strengthened international connectivity via Casablanca. This strategy combines disciplined operational growth with a gradual increase in capacity in prioritized markets. Further details regarding the launch of sales and the timing of the new flights to São Paulo will be announced soon.
