Royal Air Maroc's Special Flight Program for World Cup 2026
In anticipation of Morocco's participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced an exceptional flight program designed to assist over 8,800 supporters traveling from Casablanca to major cities such as New York, Boston, and Atlanta. This initiative is aimed at allowing Moroccan fans to closely follow the journey of their national team, the Lions of the Atlas, during this prestigious global tournament.
Enhanced Connectivity and Travel Experience
According to a statement released in Casablanca on May 19, 2026, RAM will operate 32 special flights during the group stage of the tournament, which is scheduled from June 13 to June 24, 2026, across various U.S. cities. These additional flights are expected to complement RAM's regular services to the United States, ensuring that the anticipated surge in demand from Moroccan supporters is effectively met. Notably, the airline is introducing a temporary route to Atlanta, a city that had previously not been served, reflecting its commitment to expanding its transatlantic network.
RAM will conduct 12 additional direct flights to New York on June 11, 12, and 13, with return flights scheduled for June 14 and 15. This increase in capacity will provide over 3,300 additional seats, facilitating the travel of nearly 7,500 supporters to the New York area throughout the tournament. The presence of Moroccan fans in New York is particularly significant due to the large Moroccan diaspora residing in the region, further underscoring the importance of this route.
In addition, RAM has laid out plans for 12 direct flights to Boston, with departures from June 17 to 19 and returns on June 20 to 22, also accommodating over 3,300 supporters. Furthermore, the airline will operate 8 direct flights to Atlanta, marking a historic first for the city, with departures on June 22, 23, and 24 and return flights from June 25 to 27, offering more than 2,200 seats. This strategic expansion into new U.S. hubs demonstrates RAM's intent to enhance its service offerings during the World Cup.
The special flights will be operated on large-capacity aircraft, including Boeing 787 Dreamliners, ensuring a comfortable travel experience with modern amenities and improved onboard services tailored for fans. RAM emphasizes its commitment to a smooth travel experience, from check-in in Casablanca to arrival in the United States, leveraging lessons learned from previous World Cups in Russia and Qatar, where the airline successfully organized special flights for Moroccan supporters.
Royal Air Maroc's CEO, Hamid Addou, expressed pride in supporting the national team once again, stating, "We are dedicated to facilitating this extraordinary adventure for the Lions of the Atlas during this global event. Our efforts are aligned with our mission as a national carrier and ambassador of Morocco, ensuring that we promote our country and its colors on the international stage. Now, more than ever, we stand united behind the Lions of the Atlas." This reflects RAM's ongoing strategy to associate its brand with the national team during significant international sporting events.
To make this monumental occasion accessible to as many fans as possible, RAM is offering a fixed price of 10,000 dirhams (approximately €940) for round-trip flights in economy class. Tickets are non-refundable and non-modifiable, following the protocols established for previous tournaments. Sales commenced on May 20, 2026, through RAM's commercial agencies in Morocco and the dedicated online platform "Go Lions" at golions.royalairmaroc.com. The airline encourages supporters to book early, given the limited availability of seats and the expected high demand during this period.
