Elevated Comfort on Direct Flights from São Paulo to Casablanca
In a bid to enhance the travel experience for passengers, Royal Air Maroc has introduced a unique intermediate seating option aboard its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This newly designated section offers an improved level of comfort with more spacious seats, allowing travelers to sit back and relax. Although these seats do not fall under the Business Class category, they provide a greater degree of privacy compared to standard Economy Class. Located in a separate area of the cabin, these seats are designed to facilitate a more enjoyable flying experience.
Travelers will find that these premium seats make it significantly easier to settle in, recline, and even catch some much-needed sleep during the approximately nine-hour flight from São Paulo to Casablanca. The added space not only enhances comfort while dining on the in-flight meals but also improves the overall experience of watching movies on the in-flight entertainment system or conversing with fellow passengers. Moreover, the layout makes it simpler to navigate past your seatmate to reach the restroom, particularly for those seated in middle or window seats.
Increasing Connectivity and Expanding Services
Royal Air Maroc currently operates four weekly flights from São Paulo, offering a mix of traditional Business and Economy cabins on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Notably, the Economy Class features premium seats located in the first rows, with a total of 28 seats available across rows 5, 6, 7, and 8, arranged in a convenient 2-3-2 configuration. This strategic seating arrangement provides two seats on either side of the aircraft, with three seats in the central aisle, allowing for a comfortable and less congested environment.
The route connecting São Paulo to Casablanca is among the shorter direct flights to the Arab world, especially when compared to longer journeys to the United Arab Emirates, which can take around 15 hours. On flights, passengers can expect a quality experience, with two meals served during the journey—a hearty hot meal and a light snack—along with a cabin atmosphere that is quieter and more pleasant than older aircraft. The cabin crew frequently enhances the ambiance with refreshing fragrances, and passengers are treated to large windows that offer stunning views throughout the flight.
Royal Air Maroc's renewed focus on Brazilian travelers is evident in its plans to increase flight frequency. After resuming direct flights between Casablanca and São Paulo in late 2024, following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline has steadily ramped up its operations. Company officials have identified Brazil as its largest market outside Africa and aim to expand to daily flights by 2028. The route initially relaunched with three weekly flights, which increased to four after a year, and a fifth weekly flight is slated to begin in late 2026. Furthermore, direct flights from Rio de Janeiro to Casablanca are expected to commence in 2027.
“Brazil has established itself as a strategic market for Royal Air Maroc, supported by strong operational results and consistent demand,” stated Othman Baba, Royal Air Maroc’s Regional Director for South America, in recent communications regarding the fifth weekly frequency announcement.
