Royal Air Maroc's Strategic Expansion with New Route

In June 2026, Royal Air Maroc made a significant advancement in its cargo operations by inaugurating the first and only direct air service between Casablanca, Morocco, and Los Angeles, California. This strategic development is part of Royal Air Maroc Cargo's broader initiative to enhance its tri-continental network, which was previously expanded with the launch of the Casablanca-Beijing route in early 2025. The introduction of this new route not only facilitates efficient cargo movement between the vibrant markets of Los Angeles, Casablanca, and Beijing but also establishes a robust round-the-world trade corridor that effectively connects key production and consumer hubs.

The bustling city of Los Angeles is recognized as one of the largest consumer markets globally, characterized by its strong trade relationships across the Pacific. The new service provided by Royal Air Maroc Cargo is tailored to support a diverse array of cargo types, enabling artisan products, textiles, and perishable goods from Morocco and other African regions to reach the United States, while simultaneously importing electronics, e-commerce packages, and industrial items from China and the broader Asian market.

This new service significantly enhances Royal Air Maroc Cargo's foothold within North America, which stands as one of its pivotal cargo markets. Additionally, it opens new avenues for high-value and e-commerce-driven supply chains, while also improving connectivity for trade routes that are often underserved between Africa and the West Coast, as well as Africa and Asia. Rita Chraibi, the Vice-President of Cargo at Royal Air Maroc, emphasized the importance of this service, stating, "The launch of this Los Angeles service marks a significant milestone in our strategy to connect key international markets via our hub in Casablanca and further facilitate global trade connections. By linking the U.S. West Coast with Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s African and Asian network, our customers benefit from seamless, multi-leg connectivity, improved market access, and enhanced routing options."
