Connecting Continents: A New Era for Air Travel

On Sunday, Royal Air Maroc proudly inaugurated its direct flight route linking Casablanca to Los Angeles, heralding a significant milestone in air travel connectivity between Africa and the Pacific coast of the United States. The inaugural flight departed from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca at 4:00 AM, establishing a non-stop connection that takes approximately 12 hours to reach Los Angeles, as confirmed by the airline in an official statement.

This direct service marks a historic achievement for Royal Air Maroc and enhances the air connectivity of the African continent, according to Hamid Addou, the airline's CEO. He emphasized that by bridging Morocco with the American West Coast, the airline reaffirms its role and commitment to promoting Morocco on the international stage. This launch comes at a symbolic time as Morocco celebrates 250 years of friendship with the United States, coinciding with the national team's participation in the world’s largest football event, the FIFA World Cup.

The new route is set to operate three times a week, with flights departing Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 4:00 AM local time, arriving in Los Angeles at 8:20 AM local time. Return flights from Los Angeles are scheduled to depart at 10:20 AM local time, landing back in Casablanca the following day at 5:25 AM local time.

This inauguration is part of the airline's development plan, which was signed with the government in July 2023. It reflects Royal Air Maroc's ongoing commitment to expanding its long-haul network and enhancing Casablanca's status as a major air hub connecting Africa, Europe, and the Americas. With the launch of the Casablanca-Los Angeles route, RAM is firmly establishing its presence in the North American market, where it already operates direct flights from Casablanca to New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto. The airline continues to build on its momentum with recent routes to destinations such as Beijing, Sao Paulo, and Saint Petersburg.
