Royal Air Maroc Celebrates New Route to Los Angeles
On June 7, 2026, Royal Air Maroc proudly inaugurated its direct flight route connecting Casablanca to Los Angeles, marking a significant milestone in enhancing air connectivity between Africa and the Pacific Coast of the United States. This momentous occasion was celebrated with the first flight departing from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca at 4:00 AM local time, establishing a streamlined 12-hour connection to the City of Angels, as detailed in a press release from the airline.
A Commitment to Global Connectivity
The establishment of this direct route between Casablanca and Los Angeles is hailed as a historic achievement for Royal Air Maroc and for air travel on the African continent. Hamid Addou, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, emphasized the importance of this new connection, stating that it reinforces Morocco's role and commitment to enhancing its international presence. He noted the symbolic significance of this year, as it marks 250 years of friendship between Morocco and the United States, coinciding with the participation of Morocco's national football team, the Lions of the Atlas, in the world's largest football event.
This new service is scheduled to operate three times a week, with flights departing Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 4:00 AM, arriving in Los Angeles at 8:20 AM local time. Return flights from Los Angeles are set to take off at 10:20 AM, landing in Casablanca the following day at 5:25 AM. The airline utilizes modern wide-body aircraft recognized for their comfort, performance, and advanced technology, ensuring an exceptional travel experience for passengers. Onboard, travelers can enjoy high-quality service, a diverse range of entertainment options, and superior comfort, all suited for long-haul journeys.
This inauguration is part of Royal Air Maroc's development plan, signed with the government in July 2023, reflecting the airline's ongoing commitment to expanding its long-haul network and solidifying Casablanca's status as a major air hub linking Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The new route responds to the increasing demand for intercontinental mobility, catering to Moroccan and African diaspora members, American tourists, business travelers, and sports fans eager to attend significant events in the United States.
Royal Air Maroc is thus reinforcing its presence in the North American market, offering direct flights from Casablanca to New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto, while continuing its expansion with recent routes to destinations such as Beijing, Sao Paulo, and St. Petersburg.
