Royal Gifts Enhance Lives of Vulnerable Families in Morocco
In a heartwarming initiative, royal committees from the Moroccan royal household delivered gifts to numerous underprivileged families in the cities of Fes and Meknes on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. These royal donations were specifically aimed at assisting those in vulnerable situations and were distributed under the supervision of Mohamed Saad Eddine Smij, an official within the royal household, who oversaw the distribution process.
A total of approximately 684 beneficiaries in Fes and 774 in Meknes were recipients of these thoughtful gifts. Among those who benefited were not only families experiencing financial hardship but also individuals facing chronic illnesses, those with special needs, orphans, and the elderly. A notable highlight of the initiative was the provision of medical glasses to a number of underprivileged children in Fes, demonstrating a commitment to improving their quality of life.
The distribution event in Fes was marked by a ceremony attended by key figures, including the secretary-general of the Fes-Meknes region, local authority representatives, and officials from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. Similarly, in Meknes, the gifts were presented at a ceremony with local authority representatives and the regional delegate of Islamic affairs, along with the president of the local scientific council.
This royal gesture aims to alleviate the struggles of needy families and sick individuals, as well as those living in precarious conditions within the provinces of Fes and Meknes. Such initiatives reflect the ongoing commitment of the Moroccan monarchy to support the most vulnerable segments of society.
