Generous Royal Contributions Mark the Annual Festival
A delegation from the royal administration oversaw the distribution of royal gifts on Thursday in Moulay Idriss Zerhoun and Meknes, aimed at benefitting the Sharifs of the Idrisid lineage, underprivileged families, and individuals with disabilities. This initiative coincided with the opening of the annual religious season dedicated to Moulay Idriss the Greater.
In the city of Meknes, the delegation, led by Mohammed Saadeddine Smij, an official from the Royal Palace, distributed financial aid to 311 residents of the Ismaili capital. Subsequently, they moved to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, where monetary assistance was granted to 448 needy individuals. Additionally, the delegation provided medical glasses to 49 visually impaired students, wheelchairs to four individuals with disabilities, school bags to 194 students, and clothing to 33 orphans. This royal initiative aims to support impoverished families, the sick, and those in need.
During a ceremony held at the shrine of Moulay Idriss the Greater, the delegation also presented a royal gift to the Idrisid Sharifs, attended by the secretary-general of the Meknes province, local officials, scholars, and prominent figures. The event concluded with prayers for the King Mohammed VI, wishing him continued health and well-being, and expressing hopes for the well-being of Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, as well as all members of the esteemed royal family. Attendees also prayed for mercy and forgiveness for the souls of the late Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II, asking for their eternal peace in paradise.
