Ryanair Set to Cease Operations at Tetouan Sania Rmel Airport Post-Summer Season

According to booking indicators from the low-cost airline Ryanair, the company is expected to cease its operations at Tetouan Sania Rmel Airport following the conclusion of the current summer season. This decision is underscored by the absence of any scheduled flights to and from the airport beyond October 2026.

The data available on the airline's booking platform reveals a complete lack of flights programmed for Tetouan after October, reinforcing the likelihood that Ryanair will entirely withdraw from this air route. The cessation includes six routes that previously connected Tetouan to various destinations, including Madrid, Malaga, and Alicante in Spain, Brussels-Charleroi in Belgium, and Marseille in France, as well as domestic flights to Marrakech.

While some of these routes, such as Alicante, Brussels-Charleroi, Marseille, and Marrakech, were initially designated as seasonal and set to conclude at the end of October, the lack of announcements regarding the continuation of other routes after this date further supports the possibility of a complete exit by the airline from Tetouan Airport.

In contrast, Ryanair continues to operate flights from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport, where numerous domestic and international flights remain part of their schedule, indicating the airline's ongoing presence at this airport while it moves towards terminating its services in Tetouan.

The residents of Tetouan deserve to maintain their air connectivity with various destinations. Preserving air links is essential for any city aiming to stay connected to different locations. It is hoped that solutions will be found before the season ends to prevent a halt in operations. The continuation of flights from Tangier while those from Tetouan are being discontinued raises several questions.

The cancellation of these routes will complicate travel for many individuals. There is a strong desire for solutions that ensure the continuation of flights and do not squander the benefits previously established. This news warrants an official clarification so that travelers are aware of the current situation.

Passengers are the first to suffer if these flights are halted. Tetouan is a city that deserves a stable air network rather than a reduction in flight offerings. Any cut in services will impact the city's movement and residents' travel. A prompt clarification is needed to allow people to plan their travels without confusion.

If withdrawal becomes a reality, it would represent a significant loss for Tetouan. There must be intervention to preserve these crucial air routes, ensuring the airport remains robust and does not lose the destinations it currently provides.
