Sébastien Loeb Triumphs at Rally Raid Portugal
Sébastien Loeb, the legendary rally driver, has capped off an impressive week at the Rally Raid in Portugal with an outstanding overall victory. The Dacia superstar outperformed two formidable competitors from Toyota, namely Seth Quintero and João Ferreira, solidifying his status as one of the top drivers in the rally racing world. His performance was particularly remarkable during the final stage on Sunday, where he secured a fourth-place finish over a challenging 101 kilometers in Loulé, which was enough to clinch the victory.
In addition to Loeb's success, the Dacia team celebrated a double triumph with Lucas Moraes and Nasser Al-Attiyah finishing strong, particularly on the fifth stage of the event. This victory marks Loeb's third win in the W2RC series and represents Dacia's third consecutive victory, highlighting the team's exceptional performance throughout the season. Prior to this win, Loeb had also claimed victory in Morocco at the season finale in 2025, while his teammate Al-Attiyah had triumphed at the famed Dakar Rally in between these wins.
KTM's Daniel Sanders Dominates Motorcycle Category
In the motorcycle category, the overall victory was decisively claimed by KTM's Daniel Sanders, who demonstrated his skill and tenacity throughout the competition. Sanders emerged victorious in the final stage, finishing just ten seconds ahead of Honda's Toscha Schareina, with Adrian van Beveren rounding out the podium. This result solidifies the top positions in the overall standings, showcasing the dominance of these riders in the competition.
The Rally-Raid World Championship will now take a brief hiatus of nearly two months, with the W2RC expected to return at the end of May for the third of five racing events in Argentina. Following that, competitors will set their sights on the Rally in Morocco at the beginning of October, culminating in the season finale scheduled for November in Abu Dhabi.
