Clarification on False Kidnapping Allegations
The security forces in Kenitra have officially refuted claims circulating through various messaging applications regarding an alleged child kidnapping incident that supposedly occurred in Jorf Melha. The rumors, which gained traction on Sunday, suggested that a child was targeted by a man accompanied by a woman wearing a face veil, obscuring her features.
In a statement released on Monday, the Kenitra security authority elaborated on their prompt response to the audio recording that sparked these allegations. The police immediately initiated an investigation to ascertain the truth behind the claims. They accompanied the individual who recorded the audio, along with her minor child, to the alleged site of the incident.
Following thorough investigations, it was determined that the allegations were unfounded. The child in question had fabricated a story to his mother, claiming he was the target of a kidnapping attempt, solely to persuade her to accompany him to and from his educational institution.
The Kenitra security authorities emphasized their commitment to enlightening the public and dispelling any misinformation that may circulate, stressing their proactive engagement with all reports that could potentially affect the citizens' sense of security.
