The Moroccan Directorate of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory alerting residents to the possibility of localized severe thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds in several regions across the country. This warning, received on Thursday, specifies that areas including Zakoura, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Boulemane, Midelt, and Errachidia may experience rainfall amounts ranging from 20 to 25 millimeters. The expected duration of this weather phenomenon is from noon until 11 PM on Thursday, highlighting a significant concern for potential adverse weather conditions.
In addition to the thunderstorms, the meteorological service has also warned of soaring temperatures, with orange alert levels issued for several regions. In Kénitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, and Khémisset, temperatures are expected to range between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius. This heatwave is anticipated to persist through the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday poised to be particularly warm.
