Thunderstorms and High Temperatures Predicted Across Morocco

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), Morocco is bracing for a weekend marked by thunderstorms, elevated temperatures, and strong wind gusts. From Saturday through Sunday, several provinces will experience these adverse weather conditions, prompting an orange-level weather alert. The forecast indicates that thunderstorms, accompanied by potential hail and wind gusts of 30 to 40 mm, will occur on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. in provinces including Tinghir, Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, Zagora, and Taourirt.

In addition, residents of Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, and Khemisset should prepare for exceptionally hot weather, with temperatures soaring between 38°C and 40°C over the weekend. Moreover, the DGM has issued warnings of strong wind gusts reaching speeds of 75 to 85 km/h, particularly affecting the provinces of Tangier-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra. Given these conditions, it is advisable for individuals in the affected regions to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this extreme weather event.
