Severe Weather Conditions Forecasted Across Morocco

Morocco is bracing for significant weather disruptions as the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert for thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds across more than 20 provinces. From April 7, 2026, at 1 PM until April 8, 2026, at 8 AM, residents can expect intense thunderstorms with a risk of hail in several areas including Mdiq-Fnideq, Tanger-Assilah, Ouezzane, Al Hoceima, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Taounate, Fès, Meknès, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Sidi Kacem, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Khenifra, and Al Haouz.

In addition to the thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind combined with sandstorms are anticipated in the provinces of Boulemane, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Midelt, and Tinghir on April 8, 2026, from noon until 9 PM. Residents in these areas are advised to take precautions to ensure safety during these extreme weather conditions.
