Sharjah Takes Part in the Fifth Youth Knowledge Forum
On September 7, 2026, Sharjah proudly participated in the fifth edition of the Youth Knowledge Forum, which prominently took place in Rabat, Morocco. The event was conducted through an innovative digital twinning initiative, effectively connecting the Moroccan capital with a variety of other participating cities, including Sharjah itself. Husseina Najib Salhi, who serves as the Head of the Strategic Planning and Project Management Department at the Regional Office of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Sharjah, highlighted the significance of this collaboration.
A Platform for Empowering the Youth
In her comments to Sharjah24, Salhi explained that the Forum was organized in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The primary focus of this forum is to empower young individuals, offering them a valuable space to exchange knowledge and expertise, while also transforming challenges into opportunities that contribute to a sustainable future. The digital twinning experience allowed the central activities in Rabat to be mirrored simultaneously in cities such as Sharjah, Baku, Kazan, and Cairo, thus facilitating a rich, shared knowledge environment that transcended geographical boundaries.
Moreover, Salhi emphasized the crucial role played by government bodies, institutions, and universities in enhancing discussions and fostering the exchange of experiences. This involvement significantly strengthens the capacity of young people to develop innovative ideas and solutions that address contemporary challenges, ultimately paving the way for sustainable pathways. The collaborative spirit of this forum showcases the commitment of these cities to not only engage their youth but also to harness their potential for broader societal development.
