In a proactive move against drug trafficking, the Central Service for the Fight Against Illicit Drug Trafficking (SCLTIS) successfully intercepted over 55 kilograms of processed cannabis, commonly known as kif, in Djelfa just before the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. This operation, reported by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), highlights ongoing efforts to combat the illegal drug trade, particularly substances originating from Morocco, which is known for its significant production of cannabis.
The seizure is part of a larger strategy to ensure public safety and maintain order within the region, especially during festive periods when drug trafficking tends to escalate. The authorities are continuously working to strengthen their surveillance and enforcement measures to thwart the influx of illegal narcotics into Algerian communities. The DGSN has emphasized its commitment to tackling drug-related issues, which pose serious risks to public health and safety.
