Essaouira-Mogador International Airport has reported a remarkable increase of 11.97% in passenger numbers at the end of April compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. The office revealed in its periodic statistics concerning commercial air transport for April 2026 that the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 passengers during the first four months of the current year, in contrast to 87,420 during the same timeframe last year. In April alone, the number of travelers passing through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking a 25.29% increase from 25,593 passengers in April 2025.
Data on passenger air transport distribution at this airport infrastructure, up to the end of April, highlights a predominance of international flights, accounting for 97,641 passengers, which reflects an increase of 14.41%. In comparison, domestic flights saw only 240,000 passengers, representing a significant decline of 88.43%. Regarding aircraft movements, the airport recorded an increase of 16.31%, with a total of 756 air movements by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year.
On a national scale, commercial air traffic at airports across the kingdom reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, reflecting a 9.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
