Police Crackdown on Prostitution in Marrakech
In a significant operation on Monday evening, law enforcement personnel from the judicial police department in the first security zone of Gueliz, Marrakech, apprehended six women suspected of operating a prostitution ring from an apartment in the city. This decisive action came after extensive field investigations that led officers to identify the location of the apartment, which was believed to be a hub for illicit activities.
Upon executing a raid on the premises, authorities detained five young women and an additional female suspect who was allegedly orchestrating the recruitment of clients and facilitating the operations. According to preliminary reports, the suspects had been utilizing the online platform "Afri Baba" to advertise their services to potential clients. During the search of the apartment, police discovered a number of medical condoms and a small quantity of hashish, further substantiating the illicit nature of the activities taking place.
The arrested individuals have since been placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office, as investigations continue to uncover the full extent of this operation and identify any potential links to broader criminal networks.
