Socialist Union Finalizes Candidate List for Upcoming Elections

The Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) has begun to finalize its preparations for the upcoming legislative elections, announcing a significant roster of candidates across various electoral districts throughout the country. This announcement is pivotal as it includes not only current parliamentarians but also well-known party leaders and fresh faces that the party is relying on to strengthen its electoral presence in the 2026 elections.

In the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, the party has endorsed several notable candidates, including Hassan Lashtar in the Shala district, Abdelkarim Benatiq in the Mohit district, Aisha Lkarji in the western Kénitra, Hassan Samat in Benslimane, Taha Bayhou in Kénitra, Hicham L’Assal in Sidi Kacem, Khalil Al-Sadi in Skhirat-Témara, Rashid Al-Freshwi in Khmissat, and Abdel Hafid Behizate in Tiflet-Romani.

In the Fès-Meknès region, the party has reaffirmed its confidence in parliamentary member Idriss Chitibi for the Sefrou district, along with Yassine Jouhar for northern Fès, Banasar Ahrar for Ifrane, Mohamed Agtiou for Taza, Omar Ben Sat in Hajeb, and Khalid Al-Zuhair in Taounate. The Casablanca-Settat region's list features names such as Ahmed Al-Mahdi Mazwari in Mohammedia, Aisha Al-Kala in Nador, Latifa Al-Sharif in Anfa, Mohamed Bouamri in Berrechid, and several others from various districts, reflecting the party's diverse representation.

The nominations extend across all regions of Morocco, with Aouicha Zalfy selected for the Tan-Tan district and Mahmoud Abba in Assa-Zak for the Guelmim-Oued Noun region. The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region's candidates include Amin Bakkali in Chefchaouen, Abdel Haq Amghar in Al Hoceima, Mohamed Al-Hamani in Larache, Abdel Qader Ben Tahar in Asilah, and more. In addition, the party has announced candidates in the Marrakech-Safi, Drâa-Tafilalet, Eastern regions, Benimellal-Khenifra, and Souss-Massa regions, signaling an early commitment to electoral mobilization and a well-structured political and organizational framework in preparation for the upcoming election.
