Sona Études Secures Project Management Role for Central Market Renovation
Casablanca Aménagement SA has awarded Sona Études the project management responsibility for the engineering aspect of the rehabilitation and enhancement of Casablanca's Central Market, with a budget set at 247,500 DH. This significant undertaking marks a pivotal step towards revitalizing this iconic site within Morocco's economic capital.
The ambitious project, spearheaded by architect Omar Alaoui and managed by the engineering firm BET Jossour, plans a comprehensive restructuring of the market area, which spans an impressive 8,000 square meters. Located in the Casa-Anfa district of Casablanca, the Central Market is poised for a transformation that aims to breathe new life into its facilities and services.
Key to the renovation will be the complete overhaul of the market's infrastructure, including the redesign of its roof, which is intended to accommodate a variety of commercial activities. Anticipated enhancements include the addition of cafes, restaurants, and other essential service spaces aimed at drawing both locals and tourists alike. This rehabilitative effort not only seeks to modernize the market but also to preserve its cultural significance as a central hub for commerce in the region.
