Preparations Underway for a Historic Sporting Event
The head of the Spanish government has presided over the third meeting of the Interministerial Commission tasked with the preparation and organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, a significant event that will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. This ambitious project involves the collaboration of 15 different ministries, alongside various institutions and organizations, with around 150 personnel actively engaged in eight dedicated working groups focused on this monumental undertaking.
During the meeting, which saw the participation of over 60 attendees including the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, Milagros Tolón, the President emphasized the urgency of the preparations. He pointed out that after FIFA's anticipated visit to Spain next September, there will be less than four years remaining to ready the nation for one of the most significant events in its recent history. He stated that these four years will be crucial for organizing the largest event on the planet, showcasing Spain's identity, and projecting its best image to the world.
Highlighting the importance of the 2030 World Cup as a centennial event, the President expressed his view that it symbolizes cooperation in an era often marked by division and discord. Spain will undertake this challenge alongside two friendly neighboring countries, Portugal and Morocco, reflecting a united front in the world of sports.
