Celebrating Educational Connections in Casablanca
On Saturday, the U.S. Mission in Morocco hosted the second edition of the EducationUSA Alumni Networking Event at Dar America in Casablanca. This significant gathering saw the participation of 200 former Moroccan students who pursued their studies in the United States, alongside business leaders and academic partners. The event attracted attendees from various Moroccan cities, including Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, and Dakhla, highlighting its broad appeal and importance.
The primary aim of this networking event was to strengthen the cooperation between the United States and Morocco in critical areas such as commerce, education, and regional development. It also provided a platform for creating new networks and identifying collaborative opportunities that could benefit both nations. During his address, U.S. Consul General in Casablanca, Christopher Deutsch, expressed his enthusiasm for meeting many Moroccan alumni of American universities. He emphasized that the longstanding relationship between Rabat and Washington, built over nearly 250 years, is enriched by individuals who foster connections in education, business, and research.
Deutsch noted that the alumni of EducationUSA play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the ties between the two countries. He remarked that the educational experience in the United States extends far beyond the classrooms and diplomas, as it enables the development of a network of relationships that can provide lasting personal and professional support. On the other hand, Benjamin Ziff, the Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Morocco, stated in a press declaration that this event represents another opportunity to celebrate the relationships among EducationUSA alumni and the broader connections between the U.S. and Morocco. He highlighted Morocco's wealth of resources and emphasized that its most valuable asset is its human capital, urging the need to deepen links between Moroccan and American universities.
