Sundor Airlines Announces New Route to Marrakech
In a significant development for air travel between Israel and Morocco, Sundor Airlines, a subsidiary of Israel's El Al, has revealed plans to initiate direct flights connecting Tel Aviv to Marrakech starting this winter. The airline will operate two flights per week, specifically on Mondays and Wednesdays, with round-trip fares beginning at $599, which includes cabin and hand luggage.
The inaugural flight is scheduled for November 16, subject to the acquisition of all necessary regulatory approvals. This announcement comes on the heels of a suspension of flights between Israel and Morocco that was implemented on October 7, 2023. However, following a nearly three-year hiatus, Arkia Airlines resumed its bi-weekly flights to Morocco last month, while Israir is set to reintroduce its flights to Marrakech in early October.
Gal Gershon, the CEO of Sundor, expressed enthusiasm about expanding the airline's winter destination offerings for Israeli travelers. He stated, "We are excited to enrich and diversify Sundor's winter destination portfolio for the Israeli public. To meet demand, we will offer direct flights to Marrakech, an exotic city filled with vibrant markets, fascinating culture, and a unique atmosphere.
