Regional Union of Dental Professionals Expresses Firm Stance on Court Rulings
The Regional Office of the National Union of Dental Manufacturers and Technicians in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region has firmly rejected any attempts to undermine the recent court rulings that have acquitted several professionals in the sector of what they deem to be "baseless charges." The union emphasizes that these rulings reflect the independence of the Moroccan judiciary and protect the rights and freedoms of individuals involved in the profession.
In an official statement, the regional office, which is part of the Moroccan Trade Union Confederation, pointed out that the issuance of these rulings followed judicial proceedings that revealed the absence of any legal or factual basis for the cases against the professionals. This situation indicates that the profession is sometimes subjected to unjust pressures or malicious complaints aimed at undermining the practitioners and disrupting their technical activities related to the manufacturing and assembling of dental devices.
Call for Respect and Dialogue in the Dental Community
While the public was expecting respect for the judicial decisions, the regional office expressed its discontent regarding a statement from the Dental Association that attempted to downplay the significance of these judgments. The union views this as an attempt to evade the ethical and professional responsibilities associated with filing complaints that were later proven to be unfounded.
Moreover, the office reaffirmed its full support for all professionals who have faced legal challenges, stressing its commitment to defending the dignity of the profession and the rights of its workers through all legitimate legal and institutional means, while also respecting institutions and the law.
The statement urged all parties involved to adopt a spirit of responsibility, engage in institutional dialogue instead of accusations and skepticism, and work towards initiating a responsible national discussion on ways to organize and regulate the profession. This is essential to ensure the protection of citizens' health and safeguard the rights of professionals within a clear legal framework.
The document further highlighted that the profession of dental manufacturers and technicians has a historical and legal presence since the royal decree of 1960, noting that Law No. 131.13 concerning the practice of medicine does not apply to semi-medical or technical professions. This underlines the uniqueness and technical independence of the profession.
In conclusion, the office’s statement reiterated that the rule of law in Morocco necessitates a serious and respectful approach to judicial rulings, distancing itself from any attempts to circumvent their implications or cast doubt on their validity.
