Social and Educational Support for Athletes' Families

The Board of Directors of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sports Champions convened in Rabat on Wednesday to approve various requests for social and educational support aimed at benefiting the children of its members. These requests specifically address educational assistance and medical coverage for several former sports champions, highlighting the foundation's commitment to its community.

During the meeting, the President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sports Champions, Chakib Benmoussa, emphasized that this gathering served as a significant opportunity to showcase the high regard with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI holds the institution. It also provided a platform to review the various social support programs designed for the foundation’s members. In a statement to the MAP, Mr. Benmoussa noted that the foundation currently has about 1,300 members, which translates to comprehensive support and coverage for approximately 1,300 families. This support includes complementary health insurance that enhances basic coverage, as well as specific social assistance for those in need.

He further highlighted the foundation's particular emphasis on the educational and pedagogical support for the children of its members, revealing that the total number of beneficiaries of educational assistance now stands at around 270 students. Ensuring that these young individuals attain higher education qualifications and successfully integrate into the job market is at the core of the foundation's mission and purpose. Mr. Benmoussa also mentioned that nearly half of these beneficiaries are pursuing higher education in both public and private sectors, necessitating significant expenditures and resources that the foundation is dedicated to providing to ensure their success.

Fostering a Supportive Community

Nezha Bidouane, the Vice President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sports Champions, echoed similar sentiments in her statements, explaining that the foundation adopts an approach focused on supporting sports champions and their families through medical coverage, educational support, and guidance. She elaborated that the initiatives within this institution are built on a spirit of 'united family', bringing together administrative teams and beneficiaries in an effort to promote values of solidarity and mutual support within the sporting community.
