New Developments at the Nuclear Facility Under Mount Faas
Recent satellite images released by the Institute for Science and International Security have unveiled significant developments at the nuclear complex located beneath Mount Faas, south of Iran's Natanz facility, which is known to be one of the most fortified underground sites. The images, captured on April 22, indicate that the entrances to the eastern tunnels have been partially blocked with earth, hindering vehicular access. Initially, these entrances were fully open at the beginning of the month, but the recent blockage has made rapid movement of vehicles nearly impossible. Estimates suggest that reopening the access routes would require heavy machinery to clear the debris. This situation has reignited discussions regarding the activities taking place at this site, amidst growing concerns about Iran's continued efforts to bolster its underground nuclear infrastructure away from international oversight.
