In a related context, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports has confirmed that the regular session of the unified regional examination for the first year of the baccalaureate was conducted under positive and smooth conditions, thanks to the concerted efforts of various stakeholders involved in making this national event successful.
The ministry noted that the number of candidates reached 570,696, with school students constituting 82.2% of the total, while independent candidates accounted for 17.8%. Attendance rates were impressive, with 97.7% of school candidates present compared to 64.1% for independent candidates.
Moreover, the ministry has continued to implement various organizational and technical measures to ensure equal opportunities and enhance the credibility of the examinations. This includes the development of mechanisms for preparing examination questions, grading, and securing all stages of the examination process.
In the fight against cheating, monitoring has been strengthened through the use of modern electronic systems to detect violations, alongside training for educational staff responsible for operating this equipment. The ministry revealed that 4,929 cases of cheating were detected during the regional examination tests, marking a significant 167% increase compared to the 2025 session. This rise is attributed to the expanded use of electronic monitoring systems and heightened scrutiny within examination centers.
Additionally, more than 4,000 educational and administrative professionals have benefited from specialized training courses in using these systems, aimed at improving the effectiveness of monitoring operations and reducing various forms of cheating.
The ministry announced that the grading process for the examination papers has begun, with the involvement of over 21,000 teachers, and the official results are expected to be announced on July 9, 2026.
