The National Railway Office (ONCF) has announced a temporary alteration to passenger train services on the Marrakech – Sidi Ibrahim route, effective from Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 9 PM until Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11 PM. This change is necessitated by ongoing construction works to connect the new high-speed rail line that will link Kenitra and Marrakech to the existing infrastructure.
According to a post shared on ONCF's official Facebook page, the modifications aim to enhance the capacity and infrastructure of the Marrakech station, specifically regarding the number of tracks and platforms. This upgrade will enable the station to accommodate both high-speed trains and local trains comfortably.
During this period, the ONCF has indicated that the arrival and departure of Atlas trains will temporarily be redirected to Sidi Ibrahim station instead of Marrakech, ensuring that services continue despite the construction activities. To maintain a seamless travel experience for passengers, the ONCF is implementing a special coordination system between trains and buses, aligning their schedules for optimal connectivity. Additionally, teams will be deployed to assist and guide travelers between Marrakech and Sidi Ibrahim stations.
The ONCF has confirmed that normal train operations will resume on Friday, April 24, 2026. They express gratitude to their customers for their understanding and encourage them to seek information in advance to plan their journeys effectively. Passengers can access travel information through the ONCF-INFO TRAVAUX system via various channels, including the commercial website www.oncf-voyages.ma, the ONCF VOYAGES app, customer service at 2255 (local call rates), agents, and display screens at stations. For real-time assistance, travelers can also contact the travel companion service M'ONCF at +212 667652255 or through the official WhatsApp channel: whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb6ayu9CRs1iT6xrLi1M.
