Upcoming Train Service Adjustments in September
The ONCF (National Office of Railways in Morocco) has announced significant alterations to train schedules due to ongoing construction work on the Kénitra-Marrakech high-speed rail line. Travelers should be aware that on September 5 and 6, multiple train services will experience disruptions, impacting the usual travel plans of many commuters and passengers.
During this period, specific train routes will be modified. For instance, the TNR El Jadida trains will only reach Bouskoura, while services to Settat and the Airport will be temporarily suspended. Additionally, the direct train service connecting Safi and Casablanca will be halted, and trains originating from Khouribga will be limited to Berrechid. To mitigate the inconvenience caused by these alterations, the ONCF will implement connecting services and shuttle buses through Supratours to ensure that passengers can still reach their destinations without excessive delays.
New Transport Plan Effective from September 14
Following the disruptions on the 5th and 6th, a new transport plan will come into effect starting September 14, 2026. This new schedule will include adjustments in train timings, route limitations, and changes in service availability, including a gradual closure of certain stations, particularly those at the Faculties and Ennassim. The ONCF is committed to keeping travelers informed about these developments, with detailed information set to be released on September 7. They aim to enhance communication to ensure that passengers remain informed about their travel options during this transition period.
