In light of the ongoing high-speed rail project connecting Kenitra to Marrakech, the National Office of Railways (ONCF) announced on Tuesday a temporary adjustment to passenger train services along the Marrakech – Sidi Ibrahim route. This alteration is necessary to facilitate the integration of the new line with the existing infrastructure.
The ONCF disclosed this information through a post on its official Facebook page, outlining that the ongoing construction aims to enhance the capacity of the Marrakech station in terms of both tracks and platforms. This enhancement will enable the station to accommodate high-speed trains alongside local commuter services in the future.
The temporary changes will take effect from Tuesday, April 21, at 9 PM, until Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11 PM. During this period, the departure and arrival of “Atlas” trains will exceptionally be redirected to Sidi Ibrahim station instead of Marrakech station.
To ensure the continuity of passenger transport to and from Marrakech, the ONCF confirmed that a special coordination system will be implemented between trains and buses, adhering to compatible schedules. Additionally, field teams will be deployed to guide and assist passengers between the Marrakech and Sidi Ibrahim stations.
The National Office of Railways indicated that train operations would return to normal starting from Friday, April 24, 2026. They expressed gratitude to their customers for their understanding and encouraged them to consult various channels for better trip planning, including the commercial website www.oncf-voyages.ma, the ONCF VOYAGES app, the customer service center at 2255 (local call rate), as well as agents, display screens within stations, the travel companion service M’ONCF at 0667652255, and their official WhatsApp channel.
