Temporary Train Service Changes in Marrakech Due to High-Speed Rail Project

The National Office of Railways (ONCF) has announced a temporary modification to passenger train services along the Marrakech – Sidi Ibrahim route as part of the ongoing construction of a new high-speed rail line connecting Kenitra and Marrakech. This announcement was made on Tuesday, detailing the alterations necessitated by the integration of the new rail line with existing infrastructure.

According to a post on ONCF's official Facebook page, the railway's enhancement works aim to improve both the capacity and infrastructure of the Marrakech station. This will involve increasing the number of tracks and platforms, enabling the station to accommodate both high-speed trains and regional services efficiently.

The changes to train operations on the Marrakech – Sidi Ibrahim corridor will commence on Tuesday, April 21, at 9 PM and will continue until Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11 PM. During this period, all train departures and arrivals for the Atlas trains will temporarily be redirected to Sidi Ibrahim station instead of Marrakech station due to the ongoing construction.

To ensure the continuity of passenger transport to and from Marrakech station, ONCF will implement a special coordination system between trains and buses, aligning with appropriate schedules. Additionally, dedicated teams will be mobilized to assist and guide passengers between Marrakech and Sidi Ibrahim stations throughout this transitional phase.

ONCF confirmed that train services will resume normal operations on Friday, April 24, 2026. The office expressed gratitude to its customers for their understanding and encouraged them to seek prior information for better trip planning through the ONCF-INFO TRAVAUX system.
