Tensions Rise at CHU Fes as Nurses Demand Compensation Settlements

The Independent Union of Nurses and Health Technicians in the Fes-Meknes region has issued a warning regarding the escalating tensions at the Hassan II University Hospital Center in Fes. The union has expressed concerns that the current unrest could extend into the newly structured regional health group. They are urging the urgent resolution of outstanding payments and compensation related to on-call duties, as well as pending financial files.

In an open letter directed to sector officials, the union criticized the ongoing negotiations that have not yet translated into actionable decisions. They hold the administration of the university hospital directly accountable for the delays in the disbursement of financial compensations owed to nursing staff for their completed tasks and services. The regional office is calling on both the Minister of Health and Social Protection and the General Director of the regional health group in Fes-Meknes to take immediate action to address these financial discrepancies. They caution that postponing these unresolved issues could significantly hinder the effective launch of the new health organization in the region and exacerbate professional dissatisfaction among healthcare workers.
