The 14th Edition of 'La Cigogne Volubile' Children's Literature Festival: A Cultural Journey for Young Minds

The 14th edition of the 'La Cigogne Volubile' Children's Literature Festival is set to take place from June 8 to June 13, 2026, offering children and culture enthusiasts an incredible opportunity to delve into the realms of youth-oriented publishing. This prominent cultural event will unfold across various French institutes in several Moroccan cities, including Marrakech, Essaouira, Agadir, El Jadida, Fes, Meknes, Oujda, Kenitra, Tangier, and Tetouan. The festival aims to introduce young generations to the enchanting worlds of literature and visual arts through innovative programming.

This year's edition carries the theme “Emotion and Inclusion,” which aligns with the overarching identity of the 2025-2026 cultural season of the French Institute in Morocco, specifically tailored for the youth under the banner “G-L-Youth.” This festival serves as an interactive platform encouraging children to explore emotions and feelings while promoting values of tolerance and acceptance of differences through the gateways of reading and visual arts.

Targeting children aged between 4 and 12 years, the festival will host twelve renowned authors and illustrators from France, including Astrid Dubord, Henri Monnier, Nadine Bran-Cosme, and Mariama Diallo. Over the six days of the festival, attendees can look forward to engaging encounters with creative minds, book signing sessions, as well as creative workshops and storytelling sessions designed to captivate young audiences.

In addition to traditional activities, this year's program integrates modern technologies through immersive digital experiences, which include virtual reality (VR) presentations, digital museums, and screenings of animated films. The festival will also feature specialized art exhibitions, such as the “Lune” exhibition by author Chloé Frazer, and the “Moi et les autres” exhibition produced by the French publishing house “L’école des loisirs.”
