The PAM Party Restructures Its Electoral Strategy: Key Changes Ahead

Strategic Restructuring of the PAM Party for Upcoming Elections

The Popular Movement Party (PAM) is actively reorganizing its electoral strategy in anticipation of the upcoming legislative elections. One significant move under consideration is the potential candidacy of its parliamentary deputy, Mohamed Sabari, for a seat in the Marrakech district, instead of his original constituency in Guelmim. This initiative reflects the party's intention to redistribute competencies in accordance with the challenges of the current political landscape. According to sources within the party, there is a consensus among its structures in the Marrakech-Safi region regarding this decision, especially considering Sabari's political stature as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and his professional and personal ties to Marrakech.

In conjunction with this shift, the PAM party is also moving towards solidifying the candidacy of Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, Azeddine El Mehdawi, in the Rahamana region. This strategy aims to encourage several government members to participate in the electoral process, thereby enhancing their representation within the legislative institution. During an organizational meeting dedicated to discussing electoral preparations, Samir Koudar, the party's organizational head and President of the Marrakech-Safi region, clarified that this approach is part of a broader strategy to link governmental responsibility with electoral legitimacy, allowing ministers to secure parliamentary seats.

Koudar emphasized that Sabari's candidacy in Marrakech aligns with his extensive history in the city, both professionally and socially, which significantly boosts his prospects of engaging with local issues. Regarding the political stakes, Koudar underscored the party's ambition to lead in the upcoming elections, aiming for the national coordinator, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, to assume the role of Prime Minister. He believes that the candidates the party plans to present possess strong potential to achieve this objective. Additionally, Koudar dismissed the ongoing debates surrounding the party's leadership, asserting that the criticisms being circulated lack substantial grounds.
