U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca Relocates to Casa Finance City
The U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca is embarking on a significant transition, moving all its operations to a new complex at the heart of Casa Finance City, located in the urban area of Casa Anfa. This relocation is part of a broader commitment to enhance diplomatic efforts and strengthen ties between the United States and Morocco.
This move entails the complete transfer of the consulate's facilities, including the offices currently situated on Boulevard Moulay Youssef and the Dar America cultural center, which has been based in Gauthier. The transition will occur in phases, with key dates to note: services for American citizens and visa activities will be available for the last time at the existing location on April 21, 2026, and will resume in the new Casa Finance City premises on April 28. Furthermore, the Dar America cultural center will close its Gauthier location on April 10 and reopen on May 5 at the new site.
During this transition period, emergency services for American citizens will continue to be accessible. The new consulate is strategically positioned in one of Morocco's most dynamic business districts, designed to be both modern and sustainable. The building will feature contemporary American architectural elements blended with Moroccan inspirations, and will include environmentally friendly technologies such as solar energy and water-efficient landscaping.
With an investment exceeding $300 million, this project is expected to create hundreds of jobs and generate up to $100 million in economic benefits for Morocco during its construction phase. The complex is also pursuing LEED environmental certification to affirm its commitment to sustainability.
American Ambassador to Morocco, Duke Buchan, expressed optimism about the new consulate, stating, "By opening the doors to our new consulate general in Casablanca, we are celebrating not only a modern symbol of American diplomacy but also the enduring friendship of 250 years between the United States and Morocco. With this investment, we honor the deep roots of our partnership and look forward to building an even more promising future together."
Consul General Marissa Scott highlighted the improvements in services that the new infrastructure will provide to both Moroccan and American communities. She remarked, "This facility will enable us to better serve the populations of Morocco and the United States and strengthen the close ties between our two nations."
