Five Lives Lost in Zipaquirá Toll Booth Tragedy
The recent accident at the Casablanca toll booth, situated between Zipaquirá and Ubaté, has tragically claimed the lives of five individuals. The victims were part of a family that was traveling in one of the vehicles hit by a truck that reportedly suffered from brake failure, leading to a catastrophic collision involving more than ten vehicles. According to the Instituto de Medicina Legal, the deceased included four adults, all members of the same family, and one minor.
Through extensive forensic identification processes, which involved interdisciplinary teams of experts including odontologists, anthropologists, and medical professionals, the victims have been officially identified as Adelaida Pérez Garcés (46 years old), Rosalba Pérez Garcés (64 years old), Fredy Alfredo León Narváez (43 years old), and Luz Amanda Pereira Garcés (41 years old). The fifth victim, a child, was also part of this unfortunate family.
The incident, which took place on April 1, has not only resulted in the tragic loss of life but also left over twenty individuals injured and caused significant damage to twelve vehicles involved in the collision. The authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating event, and the community mourns the loss of lives that were cut short in such a horrific manner.
